I left a note for my husband. It simply said, "I love you".

Our son saw the note and sounded out the words and then we had the following conversation:
Son: Mom, why do you only leave love notes for dad? You never leave love notes for me...
Me: I'm sorry. Would you like me to write you a love note?
Son: Yes. And please put it in my backpack so I'll find it at snack time. (as he turns around to reveal the pack on his back)
Me: Sure thing.
I wrote a brief 'love note' and began to put it in the main compartment of his backpack. He immediately stopped me and asked me to put it in the smaller compartment so it would be a surprise...
After school I was cleaning his backpack for the last time this school year and I found the note.
Me: Did you like your love note?
Son: What love note??

I got my hair cut. A lot. In the past month I got about 7 inches cut off - it's now short. Quite short. It felt awkward - like a wig. Or a helmet... It took some getting used to. My daughter was with me.
She is smart, sassy, and 100% sweet. (Well, except for the times she's sassy!) In the car from the hair salon, we had this conversation:
Me: So, K, what do you think of my hair?
K: It's lovely. It's the exact, perfect cut I would choose.
And then she smiled like the cheshire cat...

Me: I feel a little silly with my hair like this - are you sure it looks okay?
Kaia: Mom, it doesn't look silly at all - it looks just like Justin Beiber's hair. And his hair looks just fine...
Kids say the darndest things, don't they?!
That's too funny! Kids always say exactly what they are thinking!
